[OSENWORLD] With their fourth full-length album The DECADE, DAY6 is trying something new: unveiling double title tracks for the first time in their career. The move highlights both the band’s identity and their appetite for experimentation, pairing a song that feels quintessentially DAY6 with one that represents a bold new direction.
Leader Sungjin explained that the group wanted to reveal two contrasting sides: “Bus of Dreams,” which embodies their signature sound, and “INSIDE OUT,” which showcases a daring departure. Young K added, “The two tracks are complete opposites but equally powerful, and together they reflect the many sides of DAY6.” Wonpil described “Bus of Dreams” as “the most like us,” while calling “INSIDE OUT” “an adventure.”
Bus of Dreams carries a heartfelt message about holding on to aspirations, no matter how turbulent daily life becomes. Sungjin said, “Our past, present, and future — DAY6 itself is my dream.” Young K defined his dream as “happiness and hope,” while Wonpil pointed to “making good music and presenting my best self.” Dowoon was succinct: “My dream is simple. It’s DAY6, and I never want to let that go.”
INSIDE OUT also gave the members a chance to share candid messages with one another. Sungjin expressed gratitude: “Let’s stay healthy and happy.” Young K thanked his bandmates for their journey together, while Wonpil admitted, “I’m always thankful, sorry, and I love you.” Dowoon, ever the youngest, teased affectionately: “Don’t get sick, old men.”
Among the 10 tracks, the members repeatedly pointed to Our Season as the one that resonated most. Sungjin called it his favorite on the record, Young K said it captured the story he most wanted to tell, and Wonpil explained that the recording process itself had been healing. Dowoon leaned toward Bus of Dreams, emphasizing the joy of songs that fans can sing together. Looking ahead, Wonpil also hinted at new ambitions: “I’d love to experiment with blending band sounds and EDM one day.”
