[OSENWORLD] Kim Tae-hee, one of Korea’s most beloved actresses, is closing a remarkable chapter with heartfelt words as Butterfly — her first Hollywood project — reaches its finale this week.
The Amazon Prime Video original series, also specially aired by tvN in Korea, will conclude with Episodes 5 and 6 on Sept. 5 and 6 at 10:40 p.m. KST. Global viewers have already been able to stream the full season on Prime Video.
In the series, Kim plays Kim Eun-joo, the wife of former U.S. intelligence agent David Jung (portrayed by Daniel Dae Kim). Her layered emotions and immersive performance drew praise throughout the run, marking her successful leap from K-drama icon to global actress.
Ahead of the finale, Kim shared her reflections: “The last two episodes of Butterfly will air today and tomorrow. Some may have already seen the ending on Amazon Prime Video, but as always, it feels like finishing a beautiful journey. With the thought that I could do even better next time, I’ll look forward to and prepare for the new projects to come.”
She also delivered a message to fans: “It was deeply moving to feel such a warm welcome and love after a long time away from the screen. I’m grateful to everyone who embraced Butterfly with such affection. Please enjoy the final two episodes this week.”
With Butterfly, Kim Tae-hee not only proved her staying power at home but also expanded her presence onto the international stage — a transition that fans and industry watchers alike will be following closely.
